Winnipeg to assist in Fargo evacuations

The Winnipeg Fire Department will send a response vehicle to help evacuate hospital and personal care facilities in Fargo, North Dakota.

The Major Incident Response Vehicle will be sent to Fargo today and is intended for use in potential "mass casualty situations."

The vehicle can carry eight stretcher patients or 10 ambulatory patients per trip.

The unit leaves Fire Station #1 around 11 a.m. today.
